Quality Control Technician - Food Manufacturing
Clacton-on-Sea, Essex
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
Permanent Role

An established food manufacturing company based in Clacton-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in food manufacturing quality assurance to play a key role within the company's quality department.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician:

Conduct sampling and QC analysis of incoming raw materials.

Collate and manage raw material specifications, certificates of analysis, certificates of conformance, and concessions.

Manage micro analysis testing schedules for raw materials and finished products, including tracking, trending, and arranging retests as required.

Verify production paperwork before release to the factory.

Perform in-process QC sampling and product analysis.

Conduct GMP audits and internal systems audits within the factory.

Record, track, and trend non-conformance's.

Perform metal detector verification's, label checks, and cleaning chemical concentration verification's.

Carry out swabbing of cleaned equipment and environmental swabbing to ensure hygiene standards.

Conduct post-production paperwork checks.

Sample finished products and conduct QC analysis in line with customer and company standards.

Review delivery paperwork, certificates of analysis, certificates of conformance, and concessions as needed.

Assist the Assistant Quality Manager (AQM) in supplier approval processes and provide cover during periods of absence.

Actively participate as a member of the HACCP team.

Ensure daily compliance with BRC standards and regulatory requirements.

Candidate Requirements of the Quality Control Technician:

Previous experience in a food manufacturing and production quality role is essential.

Strong understanding of food safety standards, HACCP, and BRC requirements.

High attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.

Strong communication and organisational abilities.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Flexible approach with the ability to cover additional duties as required.
