Building Supervisor

My client is a leading large scale chemical company delivering customers' needs utilising its broad asset and technology base underpinned by its quality driven project management.

They have a new vacancy for a Building Supervisor based at the Norwich Site. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The role of Building Supervisor involves a wide range of tasks that include:

Acting as key point of contact for information concerning designated area of responsibility.
Planning, in conjunction with other departments, work within designated area of responsibility.
Preparation, coordination and authorisation of the Control of Work system activities for planned work within designated area of responsibility. Acting as support for Control of Work system activities within other areas as workloads allow.
Lead coordination of planned maintenance works, improvement projects and planned shutdown activities.
Provide effective handover (written and verbal) on the status of works (complete and in progress) at the end of each work period.
Champion safe working and operational compliance through condition monitoring, audit of work activities and routine checks of work area
Attainments / Knowledge required

The production schedule is extremely demanding offering both physical and mental challenges. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to demonstrate the following skills

Relevant experience in a similar process industry
A thorough understanding of Health and Safety practices
A thorough understanding of risk assessing in a high hazard environment.
A methodical and organised approach to work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
PC literacy - experience in the use of RAP and GP Dynamics would be advantageous.
Additional Information

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and be committed to achieving high work standards. They will also be required to fulfil an emergency response leadership role (e.g. Site Main Controller, etc.) as requested.

This is a full time role - Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Start & finish times will vary depending on departmental needs. The company offers a competitive salary and benefits package
