SEN Teaching Assistant's needed - Cosham, Portsmouth

Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' Secondary SEN School in the Cosham area of Portsmouth who have a need for experienced SEN Teaching Assistant's who are available to work on a supply basis, covering daily, short and long term needs. If you are available full-time and looking for a permanent position, they often take TA's on directly after a minimum of 16 weeks supply.

The working hours are 8.30am - 3.30pm, term-time.

The school caters for approximately 165 pupils aged 11-16 years who have complex learning difficulties. In addition to their learning difficulties, some pupils have other needs associated with autistic spectrum condition, speech, language and communication difficulties and medical conditions. Due to the needs of the pupils, this is ideal for someone with previous SEN experience, or a willingness to work with children with special educational needs.

You will be required to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across KS3 and KS4. The class sizes are small so lessons are tailored to meet their individual learning needs. Due to their needs, they are taught a primary module.
