Family Support Worker – Family Assessment Centre
📍 Location: Sawbridgeworth, CM21
💰 Pay: £12.50 – £13.50 per hour
⏰ Hours: Full-time – awake night shifts
📄 Contract: Permanent Role
 
Are you passionate about supporting families and making a real difference in children's lives? We are recruiting for a Family Support Worker to join a dedicated team at a Family Assessment Centre in Sawbridgeworth (CM21).

This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you will provide support to families throughout their assessment process. The position is based on awake night shifts, so you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for families during night time hours.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:

Support families with daily routines and parenting tasks during their assessment
Build positive, respectful relationships with parents, offering guidance and encouragement
Provide practical and emotional support to parents and children, particularly during night-time hours
Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures to ensure the wellbeing of children
Keep accurate, detailed records and contribute to family assessments
Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other support staff
Offer hands-on care and supervision, especially with babies and toddlers✅ What We are Looking For:

Experience supporting families, working with children, or within a childcare/early year setting
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, calm approach
Ability to work independently during awake night shifts and contribute to a wider team
Resilience and professionalism in emotionally challenging situations
Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for vulnerable familiesThe Family Assessment Centres provide a supportive space for parents to demonstrate their ability to care for their young children. This role involves significant overnight involvement and hands on work with babies and toddlers, making previous experience in early years or similar environments highly valuable.
