SEN Teacher - Primary ASD Unit - Vauxhall - September 2025 Start

Are you a passionate SEN Teacher ready to make a lasting impact in a specialised setting? A welcoming and well-resourced Primary ASD Unit in Vauxhall is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

This SEN Teacher role involves leading a class of 10 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), supported by 4 experienced and committed Learning Support Assistants. The school takes pride in its inclusive ethos, structured environment, and focus on communication, sensory integration, and emotional development.

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver a tailored curriculum that balances academic progress with personal development, using a range of strategies including visual timetables, PECS, Makaton, and sensory-based learning. You will work closely with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure each child's needs are met holistically.

SEN Teacher - Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons for pupils with ASD

Lead and manage a team of 4 LSAs to support learning and behaviour

Monitor progress using EHCP targets and individualised planning

Foster a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Liaise with parents, external professionals, and internal SEND teams

Ideal SEN Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)

Proven experience teaching children with ASD and complex needs

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Understanding of Autism-specific strategies and visual supports

A nurturing and flexible approach to teaching
