Management of the powder seasoningsproduction processes of Weighing, Blending, Sanitation, and Packaging functions of the plant. The Production Supervisor ispart of the team to develop, promote and support the quality initiatives through the plant to deliver safe, quality and legal product to the customer. The goal ofthis position is to identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and implement effective processes and procedures to reduce operating costs. The Production Supervisor is a member of the leadership team for the site and will communicate directly with KEY customers to review satisfaction regarding product quality and performance. The ideal candidate will have food manufacturing experience in a supervisory capacity. This role is also responsible for developing direct reports. Key Responsibilities - Direct responsibility for the production process to include: weighing, blending, sanitation, and packaging:timely production, packaging, labeling, and delivery of quality finished products to all customers, including other IFF locations, as specified by the Planning and Customer Service functions. - Responsible for ensuring that production productivity targets are achieved and that continuous improvement in the production processes is at the forefront. - Has comprehensive knowledge of HACCP - USDA - FDA - OSHA. - Provides a strong floor presence and understanding of the processes adequate to set the example for others to follow. - Handles day-to-day production documentation, ensures its accuracy and timely input into reporting systems. - Provides or ensures training to shift personnel to make sure all employees have the tools necessary for optimum performance. - Utilizes data systems to identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement. - Champions all safety initiatives within the facility to ensure all safety goals and objectives are met, maintaining a safe work environment for all employees. - Handles routine issues with regards to employee relations. - Presents information in one-on-one and small group situations. - Manages the staffing levels of plant personnel and temporary employees. - Manages the plant employee performance appraisal cycle. - Ensures the highest level of quality for all manufactured products. - Enforces GMP standards in all operations of the manufacturing plant to include indirectly managing the sanitation function of the plant. Required Skills An in depth understanding of SAP along with strong interpersonal/communication skills. A strong leader who can work well under pressure, solve problems in a timely manner, understand the complete picture of the manufacturing process, and think strategically to support continuous improvement. Essential Skill needed to be successful in this job: - Strong leadership skills - Development of subordinates. - Change management. - Experience in implementing continuous improvement principles: 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma. - Technical knowledge - SAP - Results oriented - Team work and problem solving oriented - Communication / interpersonal skills - Flexibility Education/Experience - Bachelorsdegree preferred - Minimum of2-3 years management or supervisory experience. - A minimum of 5 years of related experience in the food and beverage, chemical or flavor industries is preferred. - Previous leadership experience is desired. - Successful experience initiating productivity improvements to include implementation of new equipment or new process. - Excellent knowledge of good manufacturing process. Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food and Safety Practices.
