You might be working in practice right now, and that's given you a solid grounding in tax, exposure to a range of clients, and a strong technical base. But maybe you're ready for more: more variety, more ownership, and more connection to the business you're supporting rather than just reviewing numbers from the outside.

Or perhaps you're already in industry and want to go deeper, with a clearer focus on tax. You understand the fundamentals, and now you're looking to build real expertise across compliance, reporting, advisory, and commercial projects.

Either way, this role offers the platform to do just that.

Let's start with the setup:

This is a genuinely hybrid role. You'll need to be in the Middlesbrough office at least two days a week but beyond that, how and where you work is largely up to you.

You'll join a specialist finance team that covers tax, corporate risk, insurance, governance, and payroll- all part of a larger 50+ person finance function. The setup gives you both structure and support, but also the space to make your mark.

Here's what your day-to-day might include:

Preparing and submitting tax reports, forecasts, and provisions

Coordinating and reviewing corporate tax computations across 20+ UK entities

Liaising with external advisors and HMRC on complex areas like international tax and group restructures

Keeping up to date with tax legislation and advising stakeholders on its impact

Supporting wider business initiatives - from Customs projects to financial modelling

What you'll bring:

A qualification (or near-qualification) in CTA, ACA or ACCA

A strong base in UK corporate tax and familiarity with IFRS

Confidence with Excel and tax tech tools

Curiosity - the kind that makes you ask why something's the way it is

The ability to communicate tax in plain English to people who don't live and breathe it
