SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Royston (Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border)
Salary: £12.37 - £13.49 per hour (£22,102.72 - £24,103.93 actual salary)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (40 hours/week, Monday - Friday)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist education provider for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional needs.

This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for someone passionate about working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including MLD, SLD, autism, ADHD, and associated difficulties. Some learners may also have complex medical and sensory needs, requiring a sensitive and individualised approach to support.

You will be working in a supportive environment alongside educators, therapists, and support staff to deliver high-quality, personalised education that empowers each student to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Provide in-class and one-to-one support tailored to students' individual needs
Assist with personal care routines and support students with physical and sensory needs
Help create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes student confidence and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised learning plans
Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation where required
Contribute to a safe and respectful learning setting in and out of the classroomWhat We're Looking For

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
A proactive, caring, and resilient approach to supporting learning
Willingness to undertake training and gain qualifications (fully funded)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Minimum Level 2 in English and Maths (or equivalent)
