Description

A well-established engineering company is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to ensure that manufactured components meet required specifications.

Permanent night shift – 4 on 4 off 6am to 6pm.

Job Responsibilities

Carrying out routine inspections at multiple stages throughout the production process.

Conducting gateway inspections to approve component pallets for progression to the next production phase.

Operating a variety of measuring tools, including micrometers, linear gauges, air gauges, attribute gauges, profile projectors, surface testers, and CNC measurement systems, along with visual inspections.

Performing full batch inspections on components that have not passed earlier quality audits.

Conducting dock audits on pallets scheduled for customer dispatch.

Managing final inspection rejections, identifying good parts versus scrap, and providing clear feedback to inspection staff.

Using basic computer systems to record and electronically file quality control documentation.

Ensuring effective communication and documentation during shift handovers.

Maintaining a meticulous approach and a strong sense of curiosity in assessing component quality.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience in quality control or inspection roles is highly advantageous.

Proficient in using manual and digital measuring instruments such as micrometers, gauges, verniers, CMM’s etc.

Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Comfortable using computers for data entry and record-keeping.

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical mindset.
