Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum, ensuring a balanced approach to both academic learning and emotional development.

Use a variety of assessment techniques to track pupil progress and inform future lesson planning, offering targeted support to help all pupils succeed.

Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, curiosity, and independent thinking.

*

Collaborate with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, and school leadership to deliver a cohesive and effective curriculum that meets the needs of all students.

*

Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress and supporting their involvement in their child’s learning journey.

Contribute to the wider life of the school through participation in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Person Specification:

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

*

Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, with experience in delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities.

*

Ability to assess and monitor pupil progress, using data to adapt teaching strategies and provide meaningful feedback.

*

Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and productive learning environment.

*

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with the wider school community.

*

A commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, and contributing to the school’s ethos of continuous improvement.
