Job Role - Assistant Care Manager
Location - Hitchin
Hours - 40 hours per week rotating (Apply online only)/(Apply online only) every other weekend 
 
Overview 
 
Our client is a leading Residential Care Company specialising in Elderly and Dementia Care. Whilst the company ate continuing to grow this is an fantastic time to join the business as a Care Manager and grow your career. The role is to support the Manager in the day-to-day management of the home and to deputies for the Manager in their absence. The key responsibility of this post is to have complete oversight of the expected standard of care within the home, to lead the team on the floor. The Care Manager would use the Person-Centred Software system and the Radar system to achieve the required expectation.
 
The Role 

To assist the manager in the running of the home in an efficient and caring manner
To be responsible for care standards in the home.
To be directly responsible to the Home Manager, or their appointed representative in respect of all duties performed. Subject to the terms and conditions of the contract of employment.
Assisting with maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff
Ensure that all required records are kept regarding the requirements of the Local Authority, the Health Authority and central government legislation.
Support the Home Manager to maintain high levels of occupancy.
To be aware of, and take responsibility for fire prevention procedures, fire prevention equipment and the training of staff with regard to fire prevention and emergency evacuation procedures.
To undertake appropriate training and personal development to ensure that they are knowledgeable with appropriate legislation
To take part in the pre-admission assessment of prospective residents.
To attend call outs where necessary to ensure the safety of the home as part of planned out of hours support to the home.
Assessing the needs of prospective and new residents and confirming that the needs of prospective residents can be met within the home
Implementing and monitoring Care Plan systems
Ensuring confidentiality of all information
Liaising with GP’s, nurses and other allied professionals
Providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment
Ensuring the provision of necessary equipment and supplies
Meeting individual residents regularly
Frequent communication with care staff on care issues
Supporting family and friends of residents when necessary and appropriate to the client group
Assisting with the monitoring of dependency levels
Complying with the requirements of the CQC in regard to complaints
