Bid Writer – Adult Skills and Skills Bootcamps

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Writer to join a leading national provider of professional training and adult education. In this role, you will play a key part in securing funding through well-crafted, high-quality bids—enabling the continued delivery of life-changing skills programmes across the UK.

The Role

Reporting into the leadership team, the Bid Writer will be responsible for managing and writing compelling bids for funding opportunities such as the Adult Skills Fund and Skills Bootcamps. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone who is confident navigating the education funding landscape and understands how to build persuasive, evidence-based proposals.

This is a hybrid position, with flexibility to work remotely and attend the office once per week in either Manchester or Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the writing and coordination of bids for public sector and government-funded skills programmes

* Collaborate with internal teams to source relevant content, evidence, and data to support funding applications

* Ensure all submissions meet funder criteria, deadlines, and internal quality standards

* Maintain a library of bid documentation, case studies, and template materials

* Monitor relevant funding opportunities and contribute to bid/no-bid decision making processes

Essential experience:

* Proven track record of writing successful bids for Adult Skills Fund, AEB, Skills Bootcamps, or similar initiatives

* Strong understanding of the UK education and skills funding landscape

* Excellent written English, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive content

* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively

* A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach

📍Hybrid (1 day per week in Manchester or Newcastle)

💼 £45,000 – £50,000 (negotiable, depending on experience)
