Description

CAD Technician – Land Development (Civils Focused)

Wolviston Management Services are supporting our client in the recruitment of a CAD Technician to join their land development team, working on a range of port infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment – particularly suitable for a recent college graduate with the right experience and ambition.
In this civils-focused role, you’ll be involved in producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for infrastructure including quays, berths, access roads, storage zones and utility layouts – contributing to projects that are vital to the offshore wind and wider renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings for land development and infrastructure projects using a range of design software.
Develop detailed layouts for vessel berthing, offshore wind staging zones and associated onshore civil infrastructure.
Work closely with engineers and project stakeholders to develop and refine designs.
Incorporate survey data and geotechnical reports to ensure accuracy and precision in all design work.
Update existing drawings to reflect upgrades or changes to site infrastructure.
Support design reviews by presenting work and applying feedback constructively.
Identify and resolve design constraints, considering site limitations and environmental impact.
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards, regulations and client specifications.
Organise and manage digital design files to ensure clarity and easy future reference.
Maintain comprehensive records of all drawings, revisions and technical documentation. What We’re Looking For:

Hands-on experience in civil engineering design – ideally from college or a similar practical environment.
Knowledge of any 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar).
A passion for design and a keen eye for detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to manage your own workload effectively and meet project deadlines.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn – ideal for someone fresh out of college.
Experience in civil projects is essential – mechanical backgrounds are not suited to this position. About the Role:
This role sits within the land development side of the business, reporting directly to the Design Manager, and will work closely with senior management, in a streamlined and collaborative team environment.
If you’re looking to launch your career or build on your civil design experience in a role with real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
