Home Manager

South Brent, Dartmoor

Up to £50,000 per annum

Performance-related bonus up to 10%,

Full-time, permanent position

TRC has worked with this client for a number of years, across all of their services, and can vouch for their impeccable hard work and desire to be outstanding! The business has had many previous outstanding ratings and is looking for one more for this particular home!

The home is a small residential property for people over 65 with dementia needs, end-of-life and palliative care.

Management Duties (not exhaustive):

Ensure that all residents have an up-to-date care plan, which is regularly reviewed and actively involves residents in the preparation.

Ensure all risks associated with care e.g., moving and handling, mobility, and skin care are identified and correctly actioned.

Regularly monitor the delivery of care given by all staff, ensuring that the physical, social, psychological and emotional needs of the residents are recognised, assessed and met.

To ensure the Home and its processes are fully compliant with the Mental Capacity Act and that residents are empowered to make choices where able and where not, best interest decisions are made on their behalf involving all those necessary.

To provide leadership to all staff in order to deliver the highest possible quality of care within a safe working and living environment.

To be a good role model for all employees, being approachable and providing a regular presence on the “floor” as well as being consistent in all actions and decisions.

Have a full understanding and working knowledge of all care homes' policies and procedures and ensure that all these policies are applied at all times.

Ensure completion of the staff rota and ensure that the staffing ratio meets the needs of the residents.

Manage annual leave requests to prevent disruption in the home.

Control sickness and absence by always.

Essential Criteria:

Must have completed Level 5 in Health and Social Care (equivalent) or ne happy to work towards

At least 2+ years of experience working in a care environment in a leadership role
