Description

Head of Music or Teacher of Music

An outstanding secondary school near Rickmansworth is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Music to join their team from September 2025.
This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), permanent position with TLR responsibility.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a highly-regarded music department with exceptional facilities and a strong tradition of musical excellence. The school offers music places based on aptitude and is equipped with a dedicated music block, recording studio, Sibelius software, and a wide range of instruments including a Steinway Grand.

The successful candidate will oversee curriculum delivery across all key stages and lead an extensive extra-curricular programme. You'll be supported by a team of peripatetic staff and a Performing Arts technician and will play a strategic role within the wider life of the school.

The Headteacher is also open to appointing a main-scale Teacher of Music, with an Assistant Headteacher providing leadership of the department.

This role offers a generous TLR (2c), access to high-quality CPD, and potential priority admissions for staff children due to the shortage of qualified specialists.

This role is permanent, part-time (0.8 FTE) and based in a school environment.
Salary: MPS - UPS (London Fringe) plus TLR 2c
