Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – PSHCE Focus – Greenwich
Salary: £110 – £140 per day (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP (with September continuation)
Location: Greenwich, South East London

The Role:

We are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a well-led, inclusive 2-form entry primary school in Greenwich. This is a full-time position to start as soon as possible, with the intention of continuing into the 2025–2026 academic year and transitioning to a permanent contract.

The school is looking for a confident and proactive HLTA to take ownership of PSHCE delivery across all year groups and provide high-quality classroom support. You will work across Key Stage 1 and 2, deliver whole-class lessons in the absence of the teacher, and lead group interventions in core subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver PSHCE lessons across the school

Provide whole-class cover when required

Lead small group interventions in English and maths

Assist in planning and assessing learning activities

Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development

Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team

Requirements:

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience

Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a primary school setting

Strong understanding of PSHCE and its role in pupil development

Excellent behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

Reliable, flexible, and a genuine team player
