Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Support

A mental health school in Ascot is currently seeking a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their dedicated team.

This nurturing and inclusive school specialises in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced early-life trauma, neglect, or adverse childhood experiences.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you'll work closely with students who may present with anxiety, dysregulation, or behavioural challenges rooted in trauma. You will help them develop emotional regulation skills, re-engage with learning, and build confidence in their relationships and self-worth.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small group emotional and academic support
Helping students develop positive coping strategies and resilience
Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation using trauma-informed practices
Supporting students through personalised learning and wellbeing plansThe ideal Mental Health Support Assistant will:

Have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with additional needs, behavioural challenges, or mental health concerns
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and emotional resilience
Be proactive and flexible in responding to students' individual needs
Be committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of all students
Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS certificateKey information:
