Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Blandford
Salary: £18,000 to £25,000 (Annually)
Start Date: Immediate/September

GSL Education are currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic team at a local school in Blandford. The position is available for an immediate start, with the option to begin in September as well.

The school supports students who have been excluded from mainstream education, which could be for a variety of reasons. The school therefore emphasises the importance of collaboration between staff, students, parents, and management for success. The school also collaborates closely with the Dorset SEND team to swiftly identify and support pupil needs. Staff undergo regular training and updates on SEND support strategies from various professionals and agencies. Special Educational Needs and Disability strategies are meticulously planned and monitored to ensure optimal outcomes for all pupils, irrespective of SEND status.

About the role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of our students.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building positive relationships with students, providing guidance and encouragement.
Implementing strategies to support students in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively.
Collaborating with teachers and parents to develop individualized behaviour plans.
Providing mentorship and guidance to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
The ideal candidate will:

Have previous experience working with students in a school or youth setting.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
Be adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Have a genuine passion for supporting students' social and emotional well-being.

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
