TXM are working with a well-known, Rolling Stock freight client in Somerset who are looking for a Locomotive Fitter to join their growing team. Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Fitter from a rolling stock, mechanical or engineering background.
 
For this role, you will be responsible for:

Perform maintenance, fault finding, servicing, and repairs on locomotives in line with approved plans and company standards, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all relevant documentation and AMS records.
Carry out pre-use checks on tools and equipment, maintain high standards of workshop cleanliness, and uphold safety, environmental, and quality compliance procedures at all times.
Attend all required training, competency assessments, safety, technical, and quality briefings to maintain operational readiness and compliance.
Report any suspected environmental or procedural non-compliance to line management and contribute to the overall cleanliness and organisation of depot facilities. 
As for the Shift Pattern, You will be expected to work all shifts on this site. These include Days, Nights, Earlies, Afternoons and a swing shift cover.
 
What is needed from you

A level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering (or similar)
Minimum 2 years hands on experience in an engineering field.
Ability to work on heavy, hands on engineering.
