Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Okehampton

Salary:   £88.94 per day  
Start Date: Immediately – long term role, full time.

We urgently seek an enthusiastic individual to join us, ready to tackle challenges and play a crucial role in enhancing the rewarding experience of observing students' academic and personal development.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has worked in Mental Health/ Care roles to move into an Education based role.

The school is a newly opened SEN school in Okehampton for children across KS2-4. They are seeking at least 3 new TA’s to join their team on a full time basis. Children here all have EHCP’s and have needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, ADD and present challenging behaviour.

THIS ROLE IS MONDAY TO FRIDAY 8.30AM TO 3.30PM

Responsibilities:     

Guide students in the role of a Teaching Assistant
Apply strategies customised to address the specific needs of individual students.  
Work in cooperation with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop support plans.  
Foster a nurturing environment that promotes improved social interactions and communication skills.  
Assist with daily tasks, academic activities, and implement interventions to address behaviour.  
     
Requirements:     

Having previous experience as a Mental Health Support Worker is a plus    
Effective communication abilities to ensure clear interactions    
Demonstrated Patience and Empathy    
Flexibility and Adaptability    
Dedication to the Success of Students     

To work with GSL Education, you should:    

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
