Year 2 Teacher – Maternity Cover

Location: Nechells, Birmingham
Start Date: September 2025
End Date: July 2026 (with possible extension)
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £150–£220 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate and experienced KS1 teacher looking for a new challenge?
We are working with a well-regarded and welcoming primary school in Nechells to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2025 through July 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive school community, known for its nurturing environment, strong leadership, and high expectations.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the Key Stage 1 curriculum, focusing on Year 2.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, offering clear feedback and differentiated support.

Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency and best practices across the school.

Effectively manage behaviour and classroom routines to support learning.

Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of all learners, including those with SEND.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a teacher who:

Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with recent experience in KS1, ideally Year 2.

Has strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks (including SATs preparation).

Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and organisational skills.

Is confident, adaptable, and able to quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Is available full-time from September 2025 for the duration of the contract.
