The Appointment Coordinator is responsible for the management and scheduling of all appointments related to the Occupational Medicine Department.



Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Appointment Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:



 



Avoids conflict when scheduling patients.



Provides input to assure that booking guides, physicians’ times, and other data elements are accurate.



Assures accuracy of data input by checking and correcting data validity and statistical reports.



Assures effective utilization of Occupational Medicine staff and room.



Reports errors and omissions to appropriate personnel for correction/clarification.



Prepares and delivers Daily reports to appropriate interdepartmental personnel.



Answers telephones and utilized computer system to schedule and manage appointments.



Checks patient paperwork for completeness of required information.



Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).



Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Centers Organizational Competencies.



Qualifications:

Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:



 



High school diploma or equivalent.



Computer literate.



Hospital or physician office experience preferred.



Medical terminology a plus.



Medical Assistant certification recommended.
