Qualified Design and Technology (Food) Teacher - Nantwich Area
Location: Nantwich, Cheshire
Salary: £120 - £190 per day
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

About the Role:

Simply Education is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Design and Technology Teacher with a specialism in Food to join schools in the Nantwich area. If you are passionate about food education and enjoy equipping students with practical cooking and nutrition skills, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Whether you're looking for full-time or part-time work, this role allows you to deliver engaging lessons in food preparation, hygiene, nutrition, and product design.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Engaging Food Tech Lessons: Plan and teach exciting, hands-on lessons covering areas such as nutrition, food safety, preparation, and design.
* Assessment & Feedback: Use a variety of assessments to monitor progress and support student development.
* Classroom & Kitchen Management: Create a safe and organised environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations in practical sessions.
* Inclusive Teaching: Adapt teaching for mixed-ability classes, including students with SEN or EAL needs.
* Team Collaboration: Work with department colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and share resources.
* Safeguarding: Promote a safe and supportive environment for all learners.
* Professional Growth: Engage in CPD activities to keep up with D&T curriculum developments and teaching methods.Key Skills & Qualities:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
* Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and Design.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students through practical learning.
* Excellent organisational, classroom, and kitchen management skills.
* Passionate about nutrition, health, and student well-being.
* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Essential Requirements:

QTS or equivalent qualification to teach in UK secondary schools.
* Experience teaching Design and Technology with a focus on Food.
* Up-to-date knowledge of food hygiene and safety protocols.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete one).Desirable:

Experience preparing students for GCSE Food Preparation & Nutrition.
* Familiarity with modern food technology equipment and digital tools.
* Previous involvement in enrichment activities like cooking clubs or competitions.Apply Now
