Chief Design Draughtsperson

Heanor, Derbyshire - Some Hybrid working
Full-time / Permanent
Annual Salary: £50k + Bonus & great benefits package

We are seeking a dedicated Chief Design Draughtsperson to ensure the delivery of compliant, high-quality detail designs and to support their continuous drive for excellence and innovation in all design and drafting activities.

The day-to-day activities

Check and approve design definition models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring quality and consistency across all outputs. This includes welded assemblies, structural supports and similar heavier engineering "products".
Manage subcontracted detail design from a technical perspective to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Utilise correct information for producing design definitions, such as design intent and standards.
Guarantee that Product Definition meets the criteria of Fit, Form, and Function.
Perform duties of a Chief Design Draughtsperson, including capability management of drafting resources.
Provide support and advice to other business members regarding task planning and drawings, promoting value engineering and cost reduction at all levels.What You'll Need in Your Locker

Proven experience in drafting and detail design within a relevant engineering industry.
Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage subcontracted design effectively.
Familiarity with design standards and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative to identify and implement design improvements.
Effective communication skills to serve as the principal point of contact for external drafting resources and technical queries.The Rewards
