The Opportunity
We are hiring a Wiring Cell Team Leader for a permanent position based at our client’s St Helens facility. This role is key to the success of our manufacturing operations, leading a dedicated team within a fast-paced production environment. You will work closely with our Production Manager, Engineering, and other teams to ensure high standards in control panel assembly and wiring. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of your team’s performance, while remaining hands-on with wiring and assembly tasks.
The Role
Location: St Helens
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum + overtime
Hours: 37.5 hrs standard, potential to do 43 hrs.
Optional overtime of 43 hour (5.5 hours per week) working week Monday-Saturday
Mon-Thurs = 8 hour days (32 hours), Friday (6 hours) and Saturday (5 hours)
Your duties and responsibilities will be
* Lead and motivate the Wiring Cell team to meet Cost, Quality, and Delivery (CQD) KPIs.
* Allocate daily work schedules to align with the manufacturing programme.
* Drive improvements in wiring hours, reduce remedial work, and improve on-time delivery.
* Implement HSE and 5S standards within the Wiring Cell.
* Promote and apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
* Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues and meet targets.
* Remain actively involved in assembly and wiring tasks alongside the team.
You will have the following qualifications and experience
* Time-served electrical apprenticeship.
* Proven experience in control panel wiring and assembly.
* Hands-on experience as a Team Leader in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of lean tools and continuous improvement methods.
* Confident liaising with both engineering and production teams.
