Site Maintenance Manager – Manufacturing

📍 Location: East Lothian, Scotland
💼 Full-Time | Permanent

A leading manufacturing company within the timber and construction supply sector is seeking an experienced Site Maintenance Manager to oversee operations at its East Lothian facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation at the forefront of the green tech and heavy industry sector, with operations across Ireland and the UK. The business is experiencing sustained growth and is heavily investing in modernisation and efficiency.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Site Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading all mechanical and electrical maintenance, automation systems, site projects, and the ongoing development of maintenance systems. The role will play a key part in ensuring optimum plant performance, reliability, and health & safety compliance across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of fitters and electricians, promoting high performance and operational efficiency.

*

Oversee maintenance operations in line with site health, safety, and environmental standards.

*

Manage and optimise PEMAC / CMMS systems for maintenance planning, scheduling, and purchasing.

*

Deliver KPIs for uptime, downtime, preventative maintenance, and energy usage.

*

Drive continuous improvement and implement lean maintenance practices.

*

Develop and mentor the maintenance team through coaching, training, and performance reviews.

*

Ensure cost-effective management of maintenance budgets, including energy and capital projects.

*

Coordinate with external contractors to complete site works and project installations to high standards.

Skills & Experience Required

*

Engineering qualification (mechanical/electrical discipline) or equivalent practical experience.

*

Minimum of 10 years' maintenance/engineering management experience, preferably in heavy industry.

*

Strong understanding of maintenance strategies such as RCM, TPM, and Asset Management.

*

Proven leadership capabilities with a hands-on, proactive approach.

*

Excellent organisational and decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail.

*

Experience in implementing and managing CMMS systems.

*

Ability to work under pressure and lead teams to deliver high-performance results.

*

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
