Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker

Salary: £12.50 - £15.00 per hour

The Role:

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the daily lives of our young people, providing consistent care, guidance, and support. You will work within a therapeutic framework, helping young people to develop coping strategies, build healthy relationships, and achieve their full potential. This is a challenging yet incredibly rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Direct Care and Support: Provide day-to-day care and support to young people, including assisting with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration (following training), and encouraging healthy routines.
Therapeutic Engagement: Implement and contribute to therapeutic care plans, engaging young people in activities that promote their emotional, social, and psychological well-being. This may involve supporting life story work, developing social skills, and managing challenging behaviours in a therapeutic manner.
Building Positive Relationships: Develop warm, trusting, and professional relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model and advocate for their needs.
Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of all young people at all times, adhering to all safeguarding policies and procedures. Report any concerns promptly and appropriately.
Promoting Education and Development: Support young people with their education, homework, and participation in hobbies and interests, encouraging their personal development and aspirations.
Life Skills Development: Assist young people in developing essential life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and self-care, preparing them for greater independence.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and observations, contributing to care planning and reviews.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly with colleagues, management, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, therapists).
Housekeeping Duties: Contribute to the general upkeep and cleanliness of the home, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
Participation in Training: Actively engage in all mandatory and development training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in therapeutic child care.What we are looking for:

A genuine passion for working with children and young people who have experienced trauma or significant challenges.
Understanding and commitment to a therapeutic approach to care.
Patience, empathy, and resilience.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and waking nights as required.
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce
