Description

SEMH Teacher - Carshalton
Setting: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Are you a resilient and passionate teacher looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people facing significant challenges?

A dedicated Pupil Referral Unit in Carshalton is seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join their team! This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs-many of whom present with complex behaviours and require strong, consistent guidance.

This school caters to pupils who have been referred due to a range of challenges. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or a deep interest in supporting vulnerable young people. Above all, you must be confident, calm under pressure, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with students who may have struggled in mainstream settings.

What We're Looking For:
✔️ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✔️ Experience working in an SEMH or alternative provision setting, or a strong passion for working with students with challenging behaviours
✔️ Exceptional behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
✔️ Ability to engage hard-to-reach learners through creative, flexible, and personalised teaching
✔️ A team player with strong communication and de-escalation skills

You'll be joining a small, supportive team of committed educators who work closely together to create a safe and structured learning environment. This role is incredibly rewarding-with real opportunities to make a long-term difference in the lives of young people.

If you are a confident, grounded, and compassionate teacher ready for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
