Our client are specialists in their market sector, they are looking to recruit a Manual Machinist on a permanent basis.

The Job you’ll do

* We are looking for a Manual Machinist who is competent on Manual lathes, Milling Machines and Grinders to join our site in Cramlington.

* You will be required to set and operate Manual Machines to produce a range of components from a variety of raw materials including brass, stainless steel and aluminium, ensuring all components conform to the engineering drawings.

* Ensure that all processes are completed in accordance with all applicable Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

* Set up and operate machine tools such as Lathes, Milling Machines and Grinders to produce precision parts within target times.

* Working in tooling/prototype section making or modifying fixtures, tooling and prototype parts.

* Use a variety of measuring equipment ensure all inspection requirements are completed in line with control plan instructions.

* Identify and report non-conforming components ensuring the relevant SOP is followed

* Accurately complete all system transactions related to your job role.

* Maintain and promote a high standard of housekeeping at all times.

* Perform any pre-shift and maintenance checks as dictated by the plant and equipment you are operating.

About You

* To apply, you must be competent in setting and operating manual lathes, milling machines and grinders.

* Some CNC experience would be beneficial but not necessary.

* If you have excellent communication skills, are organised, self-motivated and have enthusiasm for the role we would love to hear from you.

* We ask that you work in a safe manner; drive positive behaviour and lead by example with regard to the company’s health, safety and environmental policies.

* This position will be on a full time, permanent basis working dayshift. To provide its employees an improvement in work/life balance, we operate a 9-day fortnight (9/10) where staff employees have the opportunity to work compressed working hours and as a result have every other Friday as a day off.
