Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Southport | Salary: £45,000 - £55,000pa
Sector: Construction

We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded client who is seeking a dynamic Commercial Finance Manager to support ongoing growth and strategic development.

This is a senior appointment that will work closely with the Finance Director to deliver meaningful financial insight and business planning, while also playing a key role in strengthening cross-departmental collaboration.

The successful candidate will act as a financial leader within the organisation, guiding established teams and challenging processes in a constructive, forward-thinking way. This role will suit someone who thrives on making a strategic impact while maintaining hands-on control over core finance functions.

Key Focus Areas:

Strategic Planning & Insight:
Drive financial planning initiatives, including the development of forecasts, budgets, and longer-term financial models that support the organisation's goals.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Act as a strategic business partner across departments, offering sound financial advice and challenging assumptions where appropriate to improve performance and accountability.
Team Development:
Lead and mentor finance staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and process improvement.
Cash Flow & Risk Management:
Monitor day-to-day cash flow, oversee investment activities, and support effective risk management strategies to safeguard the organisation's financial health.
Stakeholder Reporting:
Produce clear, insightful reports and recommendations for senior leadership and external stakeholders to inform key decision-making.

What You'll Bring:

Professional Credentials:
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA).
Commercial & Financial Expertise:
A strong background in commercial finance with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing stakeholders across all levels.
Analytical Strength:
Confident in using data to problem-solve, identify trends, and support strategic decisions.
Systems & Technical Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including financial modelling) and familiarity with Sage 200 for accounts and payroll. Experience with database management and financial data processing is also essential.
People-Centric Approach:
A confident communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships across internal departments and external partners. You'll bring a balance of warmth and professionalism, with values that align to a collaborative, supportive working culture.
Forward-Thinking Mindset:
Comfortable leading change and continuously seeking ways to optimise processes and improve performance.
