Your New Company & Role:

Based in South Lanarkshire, this rapidly growing principal contractor (renowned for working on some of the UK’s most exciting design and build projects) is seeking an experienced QUANTITY SURVEYOR or SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR to join their commercial team.

In this role, you will primarily take charge of the financial management of railway construction projects – overseeing cost estimation, contract administration, and project management. Your expertise will be key in ensuring our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

· Preparing interim applications for payment and managing final accounts.

· Overseeing contract administration, including cost control, pricing variations, and dispute resolution.

· Managing subcontractor procurement, certifying payments, and agreeing subcontract terms.

· Issuing early warning notices for changes impacting cost or time.

· Conducting site visits, attending client meetings, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

· Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations to protect both business and employees.

· Collaborating with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered to cost, time, and quality standards.

Applicant Criteria:

* HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying.

* Have demonstrable experience as a QUANTITY SURVEYOR in the UK Construction Industry - ideally within railway construction (although this is not a necessity).

* Possess strong knowledge of contract administration, including NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of contracts.

* Are adept at reading and interpreting complex structural and architectural drawings.

* Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.

* Are proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal direction.

* Always act in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.

* Applicants MUST live within commuting distance of the advertised location.
