Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) – Newcastle

£18-£22 per hour | 3+ month contract | Full-time | Private Charity Role

We are looking for a dedicated IDVA to join a private charity in Newcastle, providing essential support to individuals experiencing domestic violence. This role involves advocating for clients, helping them access services, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide advocacy and support to individuals at risk of domestic abuse, including safety planning and risk assessments

* Assist clients with court processes and referrals to relevant services (housing, legal, financial)

* Develop individual safety plans and ensure ongoing support

* Work with multi-agency teams to ensure effective safeguarding

* Maintain accurate case records and contribute to awareness efforts within the community

What You’ll Need:

* Experience in domestic abuse support and safety planning

* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and domestic abuse protocols

* Strong advocacy skills and the ability to empower clients

* Excellent communication and multi-agency collaboration skills

* A valid driving licence and flexibility to travel
