Senior Quantity Surveyor – Thames Valley Region - £65,000 - £85,000/annum + 8% Pension + Car Allowance + Bonus + Private Medical Insurance - Hybrid (3 days office/site 2 days home)
J3A Recruitment are excited to support a leading contractor in the Water sector, working on major projects within the Thames Water Framework. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a successful team, ensuring the financial delivery of critical water infrastructure projects, and contributing to AMP7 and beyond.
The Opportunity of the Senior Quantity Surveyor
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial management of large-scale projects or multiple smaller projects, ensuring financial success while mitigating risks and adhering to business procedures. This role involves working closely with the Regional Director, Commercial Manager, and Project Managers to safeguard the company's financial interests.
Main Duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Coordinate with the Regional Director and Commercial Manager to implement commercial strategies.
* Ensure timely submission of all relevant data for monthly and quarterly performance analysis.
* Liaise with Project Managers for commercial administration, ensuring successful financial outcomes.
* Prepare and approve draft sub-contracts within the Region’s Commercial Team.
* Manage contract notices and submissions to protect contractual positions.
* Oversee main contract payment applications, ensuring all additional cost claims are submitted.
* Assist Project Managers with sub-contractor performance management to ensure timely completion.
* Regularly submit main contract payment applications and ensure timely cash collection.
* Participate in dispute avoidance/resolution processes and manage meetings.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
* Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and key players.
* Strong knowledge of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
* Negotiation skills with clients and sub-contractors.
* Experience in preparing accurate financial forecasts and monthly cost/value reports.
* Familiarity with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
* Experience with risk assessment and value engineering.
* Expertise in live projects and final account completions.
* Desirable: Professional membership (RICS) and experience with CEMAR & COINS systems.
* Highly desirable: Previous experience in the Water industry.
Package on Offer:
* Salary: £60,000 - £85,000 (dependent on experience)
* Car allowance - £5500
* Yearly Bonus of £7500
* 40-hour work week
