Humanities Teacher - Secondary School | January 2026 Start
Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (2 Terms)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on Experience)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and versatile Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Devizes. Starting in January 2026, this two-term role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons across subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Education in a school that values both academic achievement and staff wellbeing.

You'll be teaching a mix of Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum and supports innovative teaching approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Teach Humanities subjects (History, Geography, RE) across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
Encourage analytical thinking, discussion, and independent learning
Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic progress
Foster a positive and respectful classroom environmentWhat We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge across the Humanities disciplines
Experience teaching up to GCSE level
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A passion for education and student engagement
