Position Summary:

The Licensed Clinical Supervisor’s role is to oversee and manage all clinical treatment aspects of the 20 bed Latinas y Niños Program in compliance with the requirements of the Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services licensing standards. The incumbent ensures effective implementation of Evidence-Based Practices and Trauma Informed approach; promote cultural competency; facilitate Multi-Disciplinary team meetings; review referrals; oversee admissions and discharges; provide individual and group training, education, and supervision to direct service staff; oversee client service delivery from referrals to aftercare planning; develop staff schedule; perform regular file reviews; provide clinical consultation and individual and group services as needed. The Licensed Clinical Supervisor develops, implements, and trains on clinical policies and procedures and work with Program Director to track service utilization. This staff member also supervises the extension request process and the clinical review process as required by insurance companies. He or she supervises the lead counselor in his or her role as point person for the coordination of MAT services. The Licensed Clinical Supervisor works in collaboration with the Director of Programs to ensure MOU’s with other agencies and providers. The program is located on the Tewksbury Hospital campus. Bilingual (Spanish and English) Required.

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Job:

  • Oversee all Clinical Operations of the Latinas y Niños Program.
  • Ensure effective implementation of Evidence-Based Practices in group and individual counseling as well as Trauma Informed Practices.
  • Promote a culturally sensitive environment and promote cultural competency.
  • Facilitate Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting and other meetings both internal and external as required or needed.
  • Responsible for reviewing all referrals to Latinas y Niños program to ensure clients meets ASAM Criteria for level of care 3.5.
  • Overseeing admissions and discharge decisions.
  • Provide individual and group supervision in accordance with program license to the Clinical Staff (Counselors and Case Managers) of the Latinas y Niños Program.
  • Develop and implement Clinical Policies and Procedures for program. Work collaboratively with staff to integrate case management and client centered interventions.
  • Lead monthly clinical training to Recovery Specialist, Counselors and Case Managers in coordination with the Program Director.
  • Develop and oversee Clinical Staff schedule and assure appropriate coverage on unit.
  • Develop and oversee daily client group schedule on unit to assure adequate number and type of groups provided on unit are in compliance with standard of care according to license.
  • Participate in rotation of providing client groups in program as needed.
  • Work with aftercare coordinator and other staff to assure proper after care needs in keeping with treatment plan goals.
  • Coordinate with staff to assure smooth process for meeting census goals of program in collaboration with the Program Director and the Intake Department.
  • Supervise and actively participates in the extensions requests process to ensure that client meets medical necessity and ASAM criteria and complete clinical reviews as required by insurance companies.
  • Supervise the Lead Counselor in his or her tasks related to extension requests and clinical reviews
  • Supervise the Lead Counselor in his or her role as designated staff to coordinate MAT services for new clients and prior to discharge.
  • Works with the Director of Programs to establish MOU’s with other agencies and providers.
  • Facilitate daily utilization meetings to assure communication and coordination of staff.
  • Monitor and review client cases, supervise treatment planning, and assure proper documentation in client charts to assure compliance with DPH and CARF and standards of care.
  • Responsible for co-signing clinical documentation as required by DPH and BSAS.
  • Assure timely completion and submitting of Quality Assurance data to Program Director
  • Provide on-call support.
  • Provide leadership for the daily functioning of the program and participate in program development in conjunction with the Program Director.
  • Provide clinical consultation to other program staff as needed.
  • Works in collaboration with the Program Director and the Director of Revenue Cycle to ensure that all clinical documentation needed for RCM is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS of the job:

Education and Experience

  • Masters Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field required.
  • LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, or LADC-I licensure required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • 2-3 years of substance use counseling experience
  • 1 year of supervision experience
  • Experience working in a residential substance recovery services environment a PLUS
  • Knowledgeable about addictions, recovery, co-occurring mental health issues and trauma informed care
  • Prior experience with acute residential treatment required
  • National Provider Identification Number and registered with the HealthCare Administration Solutions, Inc. (HCAS) for proper billing of services rendered and supervised

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate in an articulate manner to leadership and staff
  • Computer competency with the Microsoft Suite
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to monitor and incorporate details of day to day operations into overall strategic plan
  • Ability to be flexible and to juggle multiple priorities
