Position: Water Hygiene Engineer

Location: Luton & Surrounding Areas

Salary: £32,784.39 per annum

Working Hours: 45 Hours Per Week | Monday - Friday

We are advertising this Water Hygiene Technician role on behalf of our client, a national leader in the facilities management space.

Job Purpose:

To assist in the delivery of an affective national water hygiene service to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and providing safe working environment for employees, clients and those affected by our undertaking.

Key Accountabilities:

* To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with colleagues across all sites.

* To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.

* To work with colleagues to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.

Technician responsibilities:

At all times ensure priority is given for the Health and Safety of colleagues, contractors and members of the public whilst carrying out job related tasks.

To complete all documentation and registers prior to signing in on arrival.

To communicate with site managers/ops team explaining reason for visit and work to be carried out.

To complete all required documentation and acquire signatures where required prior to signing out when leaving the site.

Carry out and complete site specific Legionella risk assessment review reports.

Auditing of compliance folder. Ensuring other Technicians are completing routine jobs.

Inspect cold water storage tanks.

Appropriately sample CWST’s, cold outlets and hot water systems.

To carry out the cleaning and chlorination of cold water storage tanks and their associated down systems.

That the cleaning and chlorination task is generally undertaken outside normal store trading hours, to minimize risk to staff and members of the public.

Report any non-compliance with water regulations.

Jobs raised are closed down upon completion.

Line management is updated on a daily basis.

Sufficient notice is given to line manager for the ordering of water hygiene spares and consumables, cleaning chemicals and replacement equipment.

Raise jobs to helpdesk as and when required

Responsibilities:

* High degree of mobility – traveling within region.

* Overnight stays away from home may be required where needed.

* Personal fitness – nature of job requires the jobholder to climb ladders, working in confined spaces.

* Ensure to be of smart appearance with good up keeping of uniform.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* PPM store visits delivered within agreed timescales. Plan own monthly schedule of work efficiently.

* Flexibility regarding working nationally, dayshift and nightshift.

* Tank inspections.

* Water sampling.

* Legionella awareness experience.

* Legionella risk assessment experience.

* Clean and chlorination of water tanks experience.

* IT skills.

* Communication skills.

* Full/ Clean UK driving license.
