History Teacher - Secondary School | January 2026 Start
Location: Near Radstock, Somerset
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (2 Terms)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on Experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school near Radstock. You'll be joining a committed team of educators who are passionate about helping students explore the past to better understand the present. The department encourages creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity, with a curriculum that spans a wide range of historical periods and themes.

Key Responsibilities

Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
Encourage analytical thinking and historical enquiry
Support students in developing strong written and verbal communication skills
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic progressWhat We're Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in History
Experience teaching up to GCSE level
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A passion for history and student development
