Job Title: CNC Machinist – Milling

Location: Stockport
Hours: 40 hours per week – Day Shift Only

Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:00
Friday: 07:00 – 13:00
Salary:

Excellent rates of pay – negotiable depending on experience

Machine Shop Supervisor

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist (Milling) to join our team in Stockport. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining precision components from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC milling machines
Manufacture components to detailed engineering drawings within specified tolerances
Edit and prove out CNC programs
Perform self-inspection of machined parts using appropriate measuring equipment
Conduct routine preventative maintenance and general machine upkeep
Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations
Key Competencies:

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Proficient in setting and operating CNC milling machines
Skilled in editing and adjusting CNC programs (Fanuc experience is advantageous)
Strong understanding of geometrical tolerances
Accurate use of precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated, with a proactive and positive attitude
A collaborative team player
Performance Expectations:

Deliver components to the correct quality standards in a timely and efficient manner
Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping and follow the company’s 5S programme
Consistent punctuality and attendance
Required Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a CNC machining role
Completed Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
Previous experience in the oil and gas industry (preferred but not essential)
Experience with Fanuc controls (advantageous)
