About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven Internal Business Development & Account Manager to join our fantastic client in the West Midlands.  

My client specialises in the Metals & Engineering industry. You’ll be responsible for managing and growing existing accounts while also generating new business opportunities from within. If you’re passionate about forging strong relationships, have a hunger to succeed, and want a role where your efforts directly influence success, this is for you!

What You’ll Do

Manage and nurture a portfolio of existing clients in the metals sector, ensuring satisfaction and retention
Identify and pursue new business leads and cross-selling opportunities within target markets
Handle enquiries, prepare quotes, and convert prospects into orders
Work closely with external sales, operations, and production teams to coordinate order fulfilment
Maintain detailed CRM records of customer interactions, pipeline, and performance
Meet and exceed agreed sales targets, KPIs, and growth objectives
Provide market feedback, competitor analysis, and suggest strategies for growth
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in account management, business development, or internal sales, ideally in the metals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
A strong relationship builder — confident, personable, and excellent at maintaining customer loyalty
Highly driven, self-motivated, with grit and determination to hit targets
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Comfortable working in a target-driven environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools advantageous
