Our client, an award-winning, multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to add a Senior Architectural Lighting Designer to its Manchester team. With a strong design ethos and an international portfolio, this studio is known for delivering intelligent, sustainable solutions across architecture, MEP, and specialist design disciplines, including high-end lighting.

You’ll join a collaborative, design-focused environment where creativity and innovation are genuinely valued. The team works across a diverse range of sectors, including workplace, high-end residential, hospitality, mixed-use developments, and landmark public realm schemes, both in the UK and overseas.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, design-led studio that delivers innovative and sustainable lighting solutions across high-profile commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and public realm projects in the UK and internationally.

Location: Manchester (hybrid working available)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on the experience)

The Role

You’ll be leading the creative and technical development of architectural lighting schemes from concept through to completion. Working collaboratively with architects, interior designers, and engineers, you'll bring spaces to life through thoughtful, human-centric lighting design.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading and managing architectural lighting design projects

* Producing concept presentations, lighting calculations, and detailed specifications

* Coordinating with internal and external design teams

* Mentoring junior team members

* Overseeing site implementation and commissioning when required

About You

You’re a passionate and technically strong lighting designer with a proven track record of delivering architectural lighting schemes across various sectors.

You will bring:

* A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in architectural lighting design

* Strong conceptual and visual communication skills

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, DIALux, Photoshop, and InDesign (Revit is a bonus)

* A good understanding of relevant standards and sustainability considerations

* A collaborative approach and ability to lead client presentations
