Specialist Teaching Assistant – Full-Time 1:1 Support for Child with Cerebral Palsy
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Pay: From £13 per hour (depending on experience)

Supply Desk is proud to partner with a supportive and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Cerebral Palsy. We specialise in finding passionate professionals who want to make a genuine difference in children’s lives and education.

This full-time, temp-to-perm position will allow you to build a trusting relationship with the pupil and help them develop greater independence, confidence, and engagement with their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a child with Cerebral Palsy across the school day
Assist with mobility, positioning, and personal care where required (training will be provided)
Facilitate access to lessons through adapted resources and close collaboration with the class teacher
Support the use of specialist equipment or assistive technology if needed
Work in partnership with therapists, SENCOs, and families to ensure a joined-up approach
Encourage participation in learning and social activities in a way that suits the child’s needs
Observe, record, and report on progress and support strategies
What We’re Looking For:

Experience supporting children with physical disabilities, medical needs, or in SEN roles
A kind, patient, and proactive attitude
Willingness to learn and follow training related to physical or medical support needs
Ability to work as part of a wider team supporting the child’s individual education and care plan
A strong belief in inclusive education
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
