Job Description

The Role

To operationally manage the logistic team across the Warehouse to provide an efficient & on-time delivery service to UK Production.

Managing & setting KPI targets to ensure the team meet the required output.

Oversee the management & development of the logistic team.  To include the health, safety and welfare of the team together with their professional development. 

Responsible for transportation vehicles including the forklift fleet.

Responsibility for the control of Inventory accuracy, on time & in full delivery, with the quality of parts storage, transportation & presentation.

To ensure Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented, and information within the department is always up to date and available to the staff.

Promote a positive culture amongst staff by engaging them in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives.

Maintain operating systems that integrate with the ERP system.

To ensure OTIF (On time in full) KPI's are met for both Delivery & Completion (Full).

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Demonstrate track record in managing inbound material flow in a manufacturing or production environment.

Detailed understanding of ERP systems & the ability to develop & integrate ERP with the physical operating system.

Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, or materials management.

Ability to problem solve, make decisions and able to think creatively.

Desirable Criteria

Knowledge of the workings of the logistics department.

Experience in leading a team and supporting team development.

ILM 3 or equivalent level qualification in logistics, supply chain or business management.

Excellent planning and communication skills.

Have a passion for change, able to drive through improvements, seeking ways to overcome obstacles and roadblocks.
