Description

Fortress Recruit is working with a well-established engineering and technology organisation to recruit an experienced Project Manager to their team in Dorset.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex projects from initiation through to delivery, ensuring all milestones are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll act as the key interface between customers and internal teams, leading project execution across innovative engineering solutions that support critical defence and advanced manufacturing programmes.

Key responsibilities:

* Leading multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver on agreed scope, schedule, and budget.

* Acting as point of contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and strong relationship management.

* Supporting bids and contract negotiations by defining project scope, deliverables, and key performance metrics.

* Preparing and maintaining project plans, cost forecasts, and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.

* Identifying and mitigating project risks while maintaining compliance with all contractual and quality requirements.

* Collaborating across functions to coordinate documentation, approvals, and delivery activities.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

* Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.

* APM PMQ or Prince2 Practitioner certification (desirable).

* Proven experience in a full-lifecycle Project Management role within engineering, defence, or advanced manufacturing.

* Confidence in managing commercial contracts and financial performance.

* Must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance, with full right to work in the UK (without visa or sponsorship requirement).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-value, technically challenging projects.

Based in Dorset but with hybrid working options, this role is looking to pay £50-60K DoE. Occasional travel within the UK may be required.

Please note: applicants must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance, with full right to work in the UK (without visa or sponsorship requirement)
