Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: up to £50,000 DOE

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team. You’ll design and develop LV electrical systems, control panels. This role offers the chance to lead a small team of junior engineers and work on exciting, fast-paced projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor junior engineers and apprentices.

Design LV electrical systems

Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using EPLAN Electric P8 and Pro Panel.

Select components and materials balancing efficiency, reliability, and cost.

Work with mechanical engineers and project managers to integrate electrical systems.

Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and support procurement.

Provide technical support to the production team and resolve design issues.

Maintain clear design documentation and stay updated on industry developments.

Skills & Experience:

HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

EPLAN proficiency – essential.

5+ years’ electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in panel design/manufacturing is highly desirable.

Knowledge of LV power systems and relevant standards (IEEE, IEC, BS EN 61349)
