About the Role
CDM Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Machinist to join a well-established engineering manufacturer supplying components to the Aerospace and Power Generation sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for machining centrifugally spun castings in a range of stainless alloys to tight tolerances and engineering drawings. Experience operating Vertical Boring Machines would be highly advantageous, however full training can be provided for the right candidate with relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Machining and setting large castings to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.

*

Carrying out dimensional inspection of machined components.

*

Ensuring production targets and timeframes are achieved.

*

Marking up of swarf drums for alloy identification.

*

Working both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

*

Maintaining safe working practices in line with company health & safety standards.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

*

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.

*

Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.

*

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.

*

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

*

A flexible approach to work, including willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.

*

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

*

Sound understanding of Health & Safety and quality procedures.
