Business Development Manager – North West Region

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Car Allowance
Location: North West (Regional Office in Area)
Reporting to: Group Development Director

About the Role

We’re seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join our clients growing team in the North West. This role is pivotal in driving new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and raising our brand profile through strategic business development and marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with proven experience in sales, tendering, and relationship management within the waste, remediation, or environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Client Development

*

Generate new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.

*

Build, maintain, and strengthen key client relationships.

*

Assess project viability (“go/no go”) and follow up on tenders and opportunities.

*

Deliver high-quality presentations to prospective clients.

*

Educate clients on the company’s unique service offerings and value proposition.

Tendering & Project Launch

*

Manage the tendering process from pre-assessment to submission and follow-up.

*

Secure project orders, lead pre-start meetings, and ensure smooth project handovers.

*

Maintain tender documentation, cost rates, and ensure timely submissions with all supporting materials.

*

Achieve a tender win ratio better than 1:3 and ensure projects deliver agreed margins.

Marketing & Brand Awareness

*

Manage and execute marketing initiatives including e-flyers, case studies, and seminars.

*

Drive brand consistency across materials, presentations, and client communications.

*

Coordinate seminars and client events to showcase expertise.

*

Obtain client testimonials and maintain up-to-date project content on the company website.

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

*

Conduct competitor and market analysis to inform future strategy.

*

Participate in post-project reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

*

Deliver internal training sessions on business values, marketing, and innovation.

*

Contribute to the company’s long-term development strategy through new ideas and insights.

Skills & Experience

*

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

*

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to price and deliver profitable work.

*

Confident presenter with experience engaging senior decision-makers.

*

Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and act on new market opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

*

Degree-level education (or equivalent experience).

*

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally as required.

*

Relevant experience in waste management, environmental services, or remediation preferred.
