Start Date: January 2026

Location: North East London/Essex

Contract Term: Permanent

Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 FTE (actual part time salary will be £26,000 - £28,000)

A leading independent school in North East London bordering with Essex are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy SENCO to support the operational leadership and management of their SEN provision across the Senior School. This is a part time (0.6) role from January 2026. The school is flexible if it is 3 days a week or 4/5 shorter days.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the SENCO and includes overseeing the identification, assessment, planning, provision and monitoring of support for students with SEND, ensuring pupils receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The school is flexible on the type of person as it could suit a secondary teaching looking to step outside their subject specialism or for someone to focus their career on SEND, or it could appeal to someone who has previous experience of SEND, but looking for further responsibility before potentially making the move towards becoming a SENCO. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping pupils and the confidence and ability to work effectively with parents and staff. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with SEND and some knowledge of issues such as access arrangements.

This independent school has an excellent reputation for academic success within a holistic and nurturing educational framework. Whilst proud of its traditions, the school is open-minded and imaginative in its approach to continuing to develop in this modern world.

If you have a passion for SEND and would like to involve yourself in an excellent independent school, please send your CV to Miranda or contact her for more information.
