Support Worker - Complex Communication Needs
Newcastle Upon Tyne | £14.54-£15.01/hr | Permanent

Are you a passionate Support Worker - Complex Communication Needs with British Sign Language (BSL) skills? Join a new supported living service helping two 23-year-old men with profound deafness transition to independence.

We're hiring full-time (37 hrs/week, 3 x 12-hr shifts) and part-time (min. 21 hrs/week) Support Workers - Complex Communication Needs. Shifts include two weekends/month, with rotas set 2-3 months ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver 1:1 and 2:1 care using BSL (essential)
Support with cooking, cleaning, personal care, and routines
Facilitate health appointments and medication
Promote inclusion through swimming, gaming, deaf clubs, and conventions
Use visual tools (VOCA, symbol boards)
Maintain accurate care recordsEssential Criteria:

BSL qualification
Experience with learning disabilities or communication needs
Empathy, patience, and trust-building skills
Flexibility for varied shifts and weekendsWe Offer:
