Contract Options is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Chef to work every Sunday at a probation centre in Luton (LU1). This is a temporary-to-permanent position, ideal for someone confident working independently in a secure and structured environment.

Key Details:

* Working Day: Sundays only

* Shift Time: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM

* Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour (final rate)

* Pay Frequency: Weekly during probation (8–12 weeks), then monthly if offered a permanent role

* Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

* Start Date: Immediate start available for the right candidate

Work Environment:

This position is based in a probation centre housing 10–15 residents, all of whom are ex-offenders. The role requires someone who is:

* Confident and professional in a secure setting

* Able to work alone, managing all kitchen responsibilities

* Comfortable preparing and cooking meals for a small group without supervision

Candidate Requirements:

* Previous professional experience as a chef or cook is essential – this is a solo role

* Must live locally to Luton (LU1) – having access to a vehicle is beneficial but not required

* Must have a Basic DBS (dated within the last 12 months)

* If you don’t have one, Contract Options can assist with the application

* Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently

* Should be comfortable working in an environment with ex-offenders
