Contract Options is currently recruiting for a Weekend Chef to work in a probation centre located in Oxford (OX1). This is a temporary-to-permanent position offering the opportunity to join the client’s team on a permanent contract after a successful probation period of 8 to 12 weeks.

Key Details:

* Working Hours: Saturdays and Sundays only, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM

* You can choose to work every weekend or every other weekend

* During the probation period, you will be employed by Contract Options and receive weekly pay

* If successful and offered a permanent role by the client, you will then be employed directly and paid monthly

Salary:

* £15.00 per hour (flat rate)

* This is the final rate – no additional enhancements or bonuses apply

Work Environment:

This role is based in a probation centre housing approximately 10–15 residents, all of whom are ex-offenders. The ideal candidate must be:

* Confident and comfortable working in this type of environment

* Independent, as you will be the only person in the kitchen

* Able to prepare and cook meals for the entire group on your own

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a chef or cook is essential – this role is not suitable for beginners or trainees

* Ability to manage a kitchen solo, including planning, prepping, cooking, and cleaning

* Must live locally to Oxford (OX1); driving is preferred but not essential

* A Basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check issued within the last 12 months is required

* If you do not have a valid DBS, we can help apply for one as part of the onboarding process

* Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude are essential

* Weekly pay through Contract Options while temping

* Clear pathway to a permanent role (subject to performance and client approval)

* Support with DBS application if needed

* Flexible weekend schedule (every or every other weekend)
